Ed Psych Grad Students Assocation
Welcome to our homepage! Our purpose is to provide a voice for the graduate students in our department and distribute information that is important in their academic career.
Each area of the department has a student representative who attends faculty meetings and can then bring back important information to students in their areas. Further, the president attends the department meetings, providing a student voice and brings back pertinent information to students.
Our co-presidents for the Graduate Student Council for 2016-2017 academic year are Chantal Labonte and Dustin Marcenkevics. You can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for any comments or questions you may have. We also have our own website where you will find useful information and links for grad students.
Please let us know if there any events you would like to see or have any concerns.
How to Subscribe to the "edpygrad" Listserv
We have also created a listserv to help keep you up to date on department news and events and facilitate communication among Ed. Psych. graduate students. It is important that you join.
- Visit the following webpage: http://www.mailman.srv.ualberta.ca/mailman/admin/grad-student-edpy
- Follow the instructions under the section "Subscribing to Edpygrad". You will fill in an online form in which you insert your email address and create a password. You may subscribe with any email convenient to you - you are not restricted to using your University of Alberta email address.
- You will then be sent an email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the members list is available only to the list administrator.
Last, but not least, the U of A Campus Graduate Students & Association sends out a newsletter via email. To add yourself to their mailing list, send a message to email@example.com and ask them to add your email address to their list.
Each of these mailing lists contain important information on funding and other news. No information on one mailing list will be re-posted to the other two to avoid cross-posting, so we urge you to join all three. The volume of email for these mailing lists is quite low.
