Dr. Yohani aims to assist refugee children

From the Edmonton Journal- Ed Psych's Dr. Sophie Yohani is part of a team designing free webinars to educate teachers on topics around refugee and displaced children so that they may competently assist newcomers such as Syrian refugees.

Says Dr. Yohani, "Re-creating safety, re-creating routines and stability is going to be a critical foundation.”

The Edmonton Journal goes on to say, "Disproportionately high numbers of refugee students are also labelled as having a cognitive disability, which leaves (us) wondering if they were erroneously classified due to language or cultural barriers."
