Faculty of Education Graduate Scholarships

This page includes the description and application for awards and scholarships administered by the Department of Educational Psychology.

For each award you wish to be nominated for, please provide:

  • a brief research proposal (no more than 3 pages) (not required for ME Lazerte Award)
  • up-to-date transcripts of all university marks, including undergraduate work (photocopies are acceptable)
  • a current curriculum vitae (CV)
  • reference letters are not required

Incomplete submissions will not be adjudicated.

Dr Bruce Bain Memorial Graduate Scholarship

Funded by generous contributions from family, friends, and colleagues of Dr Bruce Bain
Value: $1,000
Eligibility: Awarded annually to a master’s or doctoral student in the Faculty of Education who is conducting research in the area of cross-cultural/intercultural studies. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence. Part-time students are eligible for the scholarship.

Camrose Normal School Memorial Scholarship in Education

Funded by graduates and friends of Camrose Normal School and the City of Camrose
Value: $1,900
Eligibility: Awarded annually to a graduate student of outstanding merit who will be in the second year of a thesis-based program in any department within the Faculty of Education. Selection will be made on the basis of academic standing, research potential, and innovation of the proposed research. Part-time students are eligible for this award.

Mahatma Gandhi World Peace Graduate Scholarship

Endowed by the Mahatma Gandhi Canadian Foundation for World Peace
Value: Variable
Eligibility: Awarded annually to an outstanding full-time student registered in a graduate degree program in Educational Policy Studies, Educational Psychology, Elementary Education, or Secondary Education, to encourage the study of world peace in keeping with Gandhian philosophy. The recipient will be selected on the basis of demonstrated academic excellence and commitment to Gandhian principles. There are no restrictions on citizenship.

ME Lazerte Memorial Graduate Scholarship

Funded by the Education Society of Edmonton
Value: $1,500
Eligibility: Awarded annually on the basis of academic standing and leadership potential to a student registered full-time in a graduate degree program in an education department within the Faculty of Education.
